A hundred posts later

I started my blogging journey over eleven years ago, in May 2015.

Although I thought I was late to the blogging game, I kept going because that was one of the things I enjoyed doing.

I have written 100 posts as of today, despite a quarter of them still sitting as drafts.

Here are my top 3 performing posts of all time as per my website Stats, in order:

I guess it tells me that I have a varied set of interests and should pursue them, whether I get traction for them or not.

There is something therapeutic about putting your thoughts down on to a paper or a keyboard. It may soon become a lost art, thanks to AI – which I have experimented with for writing. I believe writing will not die as an art for artists but it will be used by the vast majority of people to create slop for profit.

Like Steve Jobs shared this perspective in his famous 2005 Stanford Commencement Address. He described death as “life’s change agent” that clears out the old to make way for the new, I guess it goes without saying that writing purely without AI will be a dead art for most people, and fighting it will not change anything.

I also believe we must protect the God given ability to think for ourselves, and not outsource that to AI too.

Writers often say that staring at a blank page is a scary feeling. Like many things in life, getting started is not easy. But having momentum is the key to achieving some success in whatever we pursue.

We cannot edit a blank page.

So, if you are wondering about having that perfect article or perfect product, take this as a sign. Get started, and you will see that making 100 imperfect articles is better than waiting to write that 1 perfect article.

So, writing – although it makes me wanna cringe when reading my older posts – has hopefully made me a tiny bit smarter and a more useful human being.
